Pallikkunnu is a small municipality in Kannur, Kerala state, in southern India. It is located in Kannur Municipality, on the national highway between Kannur and Payyannur. It is located three kilometres from the town of Kannur. Pallikunnu houses several educational institutions, including Sreepuram English Medium School, Krishna Menon Memorial Government Women’s University and Kerala Vocational Training Centre. Pallikunnu is known for the Mookambika Temple.
Another prominent shrine is the Kanathoor Maha Vishnu Temple. It is located near the Kadalayi Sreekrishna Temple in Chirakkal. The Central Gaol, where many pioneers of the Indian Flexibility Struggle and other labour revolts in the neighbourhood were either ruthlessly imprisoned or cruelly executed, is located here. It is also the site of the Doordarshan and Akashvani radio telecommunication station. Pallikunnu was a remarkable place in the midst of the British domain.
