Sri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir is the most famous and oldest Jain temple in Delhi. The impressive building is located in the Chandni Chowk area, near the Red Fort, and is built entirely of red sandstone.
The shrine is famous in the city for the huge animal hospital for birds behind the main temple complex, called Jain Birds Hospital. Inspired by Vardhman Mahavir’s message of ‘live and let live’, the center includes a general infirmary and an intensive care unit and cares for birds and bird patients who need extreme care.
