Robber's Cave, locally known as Gucchu Pani

Robber’s Cave, locally known as Gucchu Pani, is a river cave in the Himalayas, about 8 kilometers from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This river cave is believed to be an abode of Lord Shiva and is very close to Sahasradhara or the ‘Thousand Springs’ in Uttarakhand. With its extraordinary underground springs of cold water, the cave provides cooling on hot summer afternoons. It is a perfect picnic spot amidst the natural beauty of Uttarakhand and must be visited at least once.
It is a good place to spend a few hours with friends and family. It is fun to walk through the stream. You need to bring a change of clothes. The robbers’ cave or Guchhu pani is a very adventurous place with a long tunnel between two narrow hills and a river in between.

The temperature in a cave is usually the average annual temperature of the region where it is located. In caves in Texas, for example, it can be as warm as 70º F. In caves in Missouri, the temperature is between 55º F and 60º F. In caves in Wisconsin, it can be a cool 50º F.

The ticket for Robbers Cave in Dehradun costs Rs 25 per person. The ticket for Robbers Cave gives you entry for a duration of 2 to 3 hours.

The opening hours of Robber’s Cave (Gucchupani) in Dehradun are from 7am to 6pm every day of the week. The best time to visit the caves is in the morning when the crowds are at their lowest.

if you visit the cave, you should take extra clothes and slippers. I recommend wearing 3/4 or burmudas as you will have to walk in knee-deep or even waist-deep water in some parts of the cave. Do not worry, it is safe, but if the water level is high, it is advisable not to ask children to go in with you.
