Purana Qila, Delhi

Standing stoically in the serene surroundings of Indraprastha, Purana Qila or the Old Fort is a masterpiece of ancient splendor and sterling architecture of the bygone Mughal Empire and one of the oldest forts in Delhi. It was built on the banks of the river Yamuna and covers a vast area of 1.5 km. The fort is located in the heart of the city and offers an idyllic and serene panorama. It exudes a romantic atmosphere and is popular with couples to enjoy some moments of solitude.

The gigantic citadel has three entrances and is surrounded by a moat, which is now used for boating. The lush green lawns, blessed with several shady trees, are a paradise if you want to spend some quiet time in summer.
