Located near the Safdarjung Tomb and the Khan Market of Delhi, the Lodhi Garden is a lush garden containing the tombs of Sayyid ruler Mohammed Shah and Lodhi king Sikandar Lodhi. The construction of this magnificent architectural work took place under the rule of the Lodhis sometime in the 15th century.
Lodhi Garden was once known as ‘Lady Willingdon Park’ but was renamed after India’s independence from the British. The contrast between the somber mausoleums and the lush greenery of the gardens makes it popular with tourists and locals alike. It is not only an architectural landmark but also a hub for the morning and evening exercise routines of local residents.
