This 17th-century palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal. From the palace, you can overlook the entire city of Leh as well as the Himalayan mountain ranges of Stok Kangri and Zanskar.
Although the palace was destroyed during the Kashmiri invasion, the architecture, ancient paintings, utensils, and cutlery used by the royal family are still there, making it an attraction for tourists. This place is now managed by the Archaeological Survey of India and is a museum.
The panoramic view is to fall in love with and the right time to visit is from April to September. The architecture of the place will remind you of ancient Tibetan architecture and is built of sand, mud, wood, and stone. The rooms are cooler in summer and warm in winter
