Kheer Bhawani Temple is a Hindu temple located in Tula Mula village of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is one of the most revered shrines for Kashmiri Pandits and is dedicated to Goddess Ragnya Devi, also known as Kheer Bhawani. The temple is situated on the banks of a sacred spring, which is believed to have healing powers. The spring changes its color from time to time, which is considered a bad omen by the locals. The temple complex consists of several smaller temples and shrines, and a large hall for devotees to offer their prayers.
The annual festival of Kheer Bhawani Mela is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the local people and devotees from all over the country. The festival falls on the eighth day of the lunar month of Jyeshtha, which usually falls in the month of May or June.
During the festival, the temple is decorated with flowers and lights, and devotees offer milk and rice pudding (kheer) to the goddess. It is believed that the goddess blesses her devotees and fulfills their wishes.
Kheer Bhawani Temple is not only a religious site but also a symbol of communal harmony and brotherhood in the Kashmir valley, as people of different faiths visit the temple to seek the blessings of the goddess.
