Adoor, Kerala

Adoor, sometimes spelled Adur, is a large town in the Pathanamthitta district in the state of Kerala. Adoor is one of the two Revenue Divisions of the Pathanamthitta District. Adoor Revenue Division comprises the Kozhencherry Pathanamthitta, Konni, and Adoor Thaluks. Adoor Thaluk comprises the two towns of Adoor and Pandalam. Adoor was already part of the Kollam district. The region lies between the important urban areas of Trivandrum and Kochi in southern Kerala.

Adoor is a part of the Pathanamthitta district and is a notable town in central Travancore. Topographically, it lies between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. Before the amalgamation of the Pathanamthitta district in 1982, Adoor was part of the Kollam region. The Assembly Constituency of Adoor is a part of the recently formed Pathanamthitta Loksabha Constituency. Later, it was in the Adoor Loksabha Body constituency itself.
