The Gurudwara Jyoti Sarup is located on the road from Sirhind to Chandigarh and is about one kilometer from Fatehgarh Sahib. It commemorates the cremation of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s mother, Mata Gujri, along with his two younger sons, Sahibzada Fateh Singh and Sahibzada Zorawar Singh. It is believed that due to fear of Wazir Khan, the faujdar of Sirhind, no one provided land for the cremation of these martyrs. As a result, Todar Mall, an ardent follower of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, bought a small piece of land from a farmer for the last rites. The white structures and domes are the highlights of the Gurudwara.
The Gurudwara is an impressive structure with beautiful architecture that includes a large domed roof, intricate carvings and detailed frescoes. It also houses a museum where visitors can learn about the history of Sikhism and the life of Guru Gobind Singh. The Gurudwara is an important pilgrimage site for Sikhs who come here to pay homage to the memory of the Sahibzadas and their grandmother.
