Hauz Khas is an affluent neighbourhood in south Delhi, known since mediaeval times. Hauz Khas Village retains the old charm of the place, with remnants of Islamic architecture roughly coloured by patches of urban, renovated gentility. hKV is known for its exciting nightlife with countless cafes, bars and pubs as well as art galleries and boutiques. In the middle of HKV is Hauz Khas Fort, with a reservoir and a well-maintained park with walking paths.
The village has an infectious energy and on weekends, various cafes host a number of live events, ranging from stand-up comedy to live jazz. The current state of the village has preserved its old charm and given it a new aesthetic.
